James Zhao was born in China and now lives in Canada. His background was electrical engineering and was an engineer in that field. He subsequently went to Australia to study telecom and computer engineering and finish his Master degree there in 1998, before immigrated to Canada with his family. Later on he gave up his IT career and chose to be an artist. He loves art and horses since a very young age. So naturally James started to mainly pain horses. He paints in oil on canvas in the style of realism.
